Who we are

Empathy in Business Consulting was founded in London with a simple observation: most consultancies hand over a slide deck and disappear. We stay. Our consultants sit with your team for weeks, sometimes months, until new processes stick and results show up in the accounts.

Our clients range from 10-person e-commerce brands to 200-employee manufacturing firms across Greater London and the Home Counties. What they share is a willingness to look honestly at what isn't working.

We bring financial modelling, operational diagnostics and leadership coaching under one roof. That means you don't need to hire three separate firms to fix a single bottleneck. One engagement, one team, one invoice.

Since 2018 we have completed over 140 consulting projects. Roughly 70 per cent of our work comes from repeat clients or referrals, which tells us more than any satisfaction survey could.

What we do

Six core service areas, each tailored to the size and sector of your business.

Strategic planning

We build 12- to 36-month strategic plans grounded in market data, competitor analysis and honest internal assessment. Each plan includes quarterly milestones and a review calendar so it doesn't gather dust.

Operational efficiency

We map your workflows end to end, identify waste and redesign processes. Past clients have cut order-to-delivery time by 30 per cent within a single quarter after implementing our recommendations.

Leadership development

We coach founders and senior managers through structured programmes lasting eight to twelve weeks. Sessions cover delegation frameworks, conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure.

Financial advisory

Cash-flow forecasting, cost-structure analysis and funding-readiness assessments. We prepare the financial models investors and lenders actually want to see, not generic templates.

Change management

Mergers, restructures and technology migrations all fail without a people plan. We design communication strategies, training schedules and feedback loops that keep staff engaged through transitions.

Performance measurement

We install KPI dashboards and reporting rhythms that give you a real-time picture of business health. No more waiting until year-end to discover a problem that started in February.

How we work

A four-stage method that keeps every engagement focused and accountable.

1

Discovery call

A 45-minute conversation to understand your business, your frustrations and your goals. We ask a lot of questions. You bring the honesty.

2

Diagnostic review

We spend one to two weeks inside your operations: interviewing staff, reviewing financials, observing workflows. The output is a written diagnostic with prioritised recommendations.

3

Implementation

We work alongside your team to execute the plan. This isn't advisory from a distance. Our consultants attend your stand-ups, sit in your office and help solve problems as they surface.

4

Review and handover

After 90 days we measure results against the original brief, document lessons learned and hand over tools and templates so your team can sustain progress independently.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical engagement last?

Most projects run between six and sixteen weeks. Short diagnostic reviews can be completed in two weeks, while full operational overhauls with implementation support usually need three to four months.

What industries do you serve?

We have deep experience in professional services, retail, e-commerce, logistics and light manufacturing. The frameworks we use adapt well across sectors, so we occasionally take on clients outside those verticals when the challenge is a good fit.

Do you work with businesses outside London?

Yes. While our office is in Clerkenwell, we regularly travel to client sites across the South East. Remote engagements work well for the coaching and financial advisory services.

How is your fee structured?

We offer fixed-fee project pricing after the discovery call so there are no surprises. For ongoing advisory relationships we use monthly retainers. Hourly billing is available but rarely preferred by clients.

What does the free consultation include?

A 45-minute video or in-person conversation where we discuss your current challenges, goals and timelines. You will leave with at least two actionable suggestions, whether or not you decide to engage us further.
